Smart inboxes, send later, snooze and undo send

Keep notifications out of your main inbox, and send, hold back or bring back mail when it suits you.

These features are in Jasper Mail in the desktop app. They work with any mailbox you have added.

Smart inboxes

Jasper sorts some mail into its own inboxes so your main inbox is mostly people. The built-in smart inboxes are GitHub, Jasper, ClickUp, Figma, Paper Trail (receipts and invoices) and Feed (mail with an unsubscribe link).

  1. Open Settings…, choose Mail, then Smart inboxes.
  2. To put a smart inbox's mail back in your main inbox, untick Show. Tick Notify if you want alerts for it (off by default).
  3. To add your own, enter a Name, the Senders (addresses such as [email protected], or a whole domain such as @example.com) and, optionally, Subject contains. Click Add.

Your own smart inboxes match on sender and subject only. Remove one with the × next to it.

Send later

  1. Write your email and click Send later in the composer.
  2. Pick a time: later today, tomorrow at 9:00 your time, tomorrow at 9:00 the recipient's time (when Jasper knows or can guess their time zone), or choose a date and time and click Set.
  3. Jasper confirms the time. The email sends from your own mailbox even if Jasper is closed.

Scheduled mail is listed under Scheduled in the Mail sidebar, where you can Change time, Edit or Cancel it. If a send fails, Jasper doesn't try again: the email shows as Failed and you pick a new time.

Snooze

  1. Open the email and click the clock icon, Snooze. You can also snooze several emails at once from the selection bar.
  2. Choose later today, tomorrow, this weekend, next week, or your own time.

The email moves to a Jasper/Snoozed folder in your mailbox. At the time you chose, it comes back to your inbox as unread. Jasper also sends you a notification when it is due.

Undo send

After you click send, a bar shows Sending in… with Undo and Send now. The wait is 10 seconds by default. To change it, open Settings…, choose Mail and set Undo Send to Off, 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds.

Shared inboxes

Shared inboxes let a team assign threads, set them to open, waiting or done, comment privately and reply as the shared address. They can't be connected to mailboxes outside Shakewell yet: the only providers on offer are Shakewell's own mail server and Shakewell's Google Workspace.

Limits

  • Snoozed mail comes back only when the desktop app is running on the computer where you snoozed it. If it is closed at the time, the email stays in Jasper/Snoozed until you open the app there. Jasper still notifies you on time.
  • Your own smart inboxes can't match on body text, attachments or projects.
  • A failed scheduled email isn't retried.
  • These features are in the desktop app only.
