A Postman alternative for teams
Postman's Free plan is now for one person, and team collaboration starts on its Team plan. Where Postman is better
- Scripts everywhere a request runs. Jasper's desktop app runs them in Postman's own script engine, but the web client runs none and monitors run only a subset of pm.*.
- OAuth 2.0 token flows, and gRPC and WebSocket requests. Jasper sends HTTP requests only, and you paste an OAuth 2.0 token in yourself.
- The Postman CLI. Jasper has no packaged command-line runner yet.
- A mature product with a Private API Network, governance and audit logs on Enterprise.
Where Jasper is better
- Shared workspaces of collections and environments on the free plan, with a role for each person.
- Secret values stay out of shared environments: the desktop app encrypts them with your computer's keychain.
- The desktop app sends requests from your own computer, so localhost, VPN and intranet APIs work. The web client blocks private addresses.
- Monitors with email and webhook alerts, mock URLs that answer GET requests from saved examples, and version history with a diff.
- The API client sits in the same workspace as your team's chat, code review and time tracking.

Postman's pricing page lists 1 user on Free and says "Free and Solo are single-player plans. Team is for collaboration". Free and Solo support single-user workspaces, so a team that wants to share a private workspace needs the Team plan or another tool. Prices are copied as Postman's own page showed them to us on 4 Oct 2026; your currency may differ.

Moving from Postman
- In Postman, open Collections, choose View more actions next to a collection, then More > Export collection > Export JSON. Export each environment from Environments > View more actions > Export.
- In Jasper's API client, choose Import and add the files. You can also import OpenAPI and Swagger files.
- Or connect your own Postman API key to sync collections and environments one way, from Postman into Jasper, while you move.
- Run your requests from the desktop app, where scripts run in Postman's own script engine. Monitors on the web run a subset of pm.* and list anything they ignored.
- Requests that use OAuth 2.0 keep their settings, but Jasper will not fetch the token. Paste a token, or use API key, Bearer or Basic auth.

Is Postman still free?
Yes, for one person. Postman's Free plan costs $0 and includes 1 user, 50 AI credits a month and 1,000 monitoring requests a month. Postman calls Free and Solo "single-player plans"; team collaboration is on Team, at $19 per user a month billed annually.
What is the team limit on Postman's free plan?
One user. Postman lists 1 user on Free and on Solo, and unlimited users on Team and Enterprise.
Can my team share collections in Jasper for free?
Yes. The API client is part of Jasper's free plan. Put collections in a shared workspace and give each person a Viewer, Editor or Admin role.
Will my Postman scripts work in Jasper?
In the desktop app, yes: pre-request and test scripts run in Postman's own script engine, including pm.sendRequest. The web client doesn't run scripts, and monitors run a subset of pm.* on Jasper's server.
Can we keep using Postman while we move?
Yes. Each person can connect their own Postman API key, and Jasper syncs collections and environments one way, from Postman into Jasper.
Does Jasper support OAuth 2.0?
Not as a token flow. OAuth 2.0 settings come across on import and export, but Jasper does not fetch tokens when it sends a request.
