A Missive alternative for agencies
Missive is the better email tool today. It has team inboxes you can set up yourself, Gmail and Outlook accounts, SMS and WhatsApp, and apps for the web, desktop and phones. Jasper's mail is desktop-only, and its shared inboxes are not available to customers today. Pick Jasper if your team mostly needs personal mail next to full team chat with calls, timesheets and leave.

Where Missive is better
- Team inboxes you can set up yourself, with assignment, internal threads and collaborative drafting. Jasper's shared inboxes are not available to customers today.
- Mail on the web, desktop and phones, with Gmail, Outlook and IMAP accounts. Jasper's mail is desktop-only and cannot connect Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com.
- SMS through Twilio, WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram in the same inbox.
- Rules, auto-assignment and analytics, plus API and MCP access from Productive.
- Guest access for people outside your team.
Where Jasper is better
- Full team chat with channels, threads and direct messages, and calls and huddles of up to 25 people with screen sharing in the desktop app, not only comments on email.
- Time tracking, timesheets and leave for the same team (team plans). On a team plan, mail from a client's domain files into that client's folder, beside your hours on that client.
- Smart inboxes keep GitHub, ClickUp and receipt emails out of your main inbox.
- A wiki, staff training and AI code review in the same workspace.

Moving from Missive
- List the mailboxes your team uses. Jasper connects mailboxes over IMAP and SMTP with a password or an app password; Gmail, iCloud, Fastmail and Zoho have presets. Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com cannot connect yet.
- Add each person's mailbox in the Jasper desktop app. Jasper syncs it on the server, so send later works when the laptop is closed.
- Keep team inboxes in Missive for now. Jasper's shared inboxes cannot connect to your own mail server or Google Workspace yet.
- Move internal conversation into Jasper channels, and share an email into a channel when the team needs to discuss it.

Does Missive have a free plan?
No. Every new team starts on a 30-day free trial of the Productive plan, with no credit card. Paid plans start at $14 per user a month, billed yearly, for up to 5 users.
Missive or Front?
Missive is lighter, with team inboxes, internal chat and tasks, from $14 per user a month billed yearly. Front is built for customer support, with several channels, ticketing, analytics and a knowledge base, from $25 per seat a month billed annually. Both have desktop and mobile apps.
Can Jasper replace Missive?
Only if your team mainly needs personal mail next to team chat, calls, timesheets and leave, and works on desktop computers. If you rely on shared inboxes, phones or Outlook, keep Missive for now.
Does Jasper work with Outlook or Microsoft 365?
No. Jasper connects mailboxes over IMAP and SMTP with a password or an app password. Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com are not supported.
Is Jasper Mail on the web or on phones?
No. Mail is in the Jasper desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux.
Does Jasper use AI on my email without asking?
Some AI runs without asking. "Write in my style" is on by default and learns from your recent sent mail and chat messages; you can turn it off. The Today page sends the subjects and senders of mail waiting for a reply to Anthropic's Claude for a daily note. Drafts, rewrites and summaries run when you ask.
